Our Concept and our journey
Flying Timber Axe Throwing in Nebraska, started with an idea, family support and a dream. Here’s our axe throwing journey and our destination.
The Seed
To explain where the idea for Flying Timber came from, Matt and Kelli would first need to tell you about their Nordic Viking heritage. They’d have to tell you how every summer, their family becomes one with their inner lumberjack - then buy you a drink and apologize for blowing smoke because that’s a load of bull. The beginning is simple: Matt and Kelli once heard legends of axe throwing leagues from friends in Chicago and were instantly intrigued.
An Idea Takes Root
Driven by an adventurous, entrepreneurial spirit and nourished by the support of family and friends across the Midwest, Matt soon stepped away from his high stress job and started moving in the direction of his and Kelli’s budding dream. After family members of all ages helped with hours and hours of proper research (erm...axe chucking and fun having!) Matt and Kelli knew that the stars were aligned and there was no turning back.
Flying Timber Early Days
Matt and Kelli are eager and grateful to be opening Omaha’s newest adventure and one of a kind family experience. Located in the heart of Downtown Omaha, Flying Timber promises to be like nothing else the city has to offer. Owned and operated by family with roots right here in the community.
Revolutionary Step Forward
Our new lanes are a totally different experience than most axe throwing venues. We use end grain targets that are super easy to stick! Patent-pending no bounce borders makes our lanes the safest lanes possible! Digital scoring makes it easy to keep score and see it on the board. On top of all that, we have super fun games - not just round targets. We also have tic-tac-toe and zombies .... and more games on the way! So grab a friend. Grab the family.
